Zebras can live up to 25 years in the wild. zebras are smaller than horses and do not have the back strength necessary to carry a person for an extended time. Think untrained Donkey. Rather then a horse. And no an untrained Donkey wont let you ride it either nor can an unmaintained donkey support an average human for extended periods. Horses are just geniunely bigger which is why they are not burdened by a humans wieght even when that horse is untrained. AKA it wont skip a beat. So, while zebras are more like donkeys than horses, they are not technically donkeys. However that technicality is not really based in actual scientific fact. Although camels really do not smell any worse than horses, mules or unwashed men, their smell was different and had a tendency to frighten horses unfamiliar with the odor.
